Call-Ready Check

Tick the answers that are true today. You'll see how ready you are for a first call with a lender, and exactly what to tidy up before the phone rings.

  1. Can you say what the money is for in one or two sentences?

  2. Do you know roughly how much you need, and by what date?

  3. Could you download your recent business bank statements today?

  4. Are your BAS and tax returns lodged, even if something's unpaid?

  5. Do you know what the business currently owes, and to whom?

  6. Do you know how the loan would be repaid — from trading, a sale or a refinance?

  7. If there's property involved, do you know its rough value and what's owed on it?

  8. Are you ready to mention any past credit issues up front?

Your readiness

Answer the questions above

A private self-check to help you prepare. Nothing is stored or sent, and it isn't an assessment of your eligibility.

What the Call-Ready Check looks at

Every question maps to something a lender needs to understand before they can talk sensibly about options: the purpose, the amount and timing, the trading picture, tax lodgements, existing debts, the way out, any property, and any history worth explaining. You don't need a perfect score to request a call. The check simply shows which parts of the conversation will go quickly and which will need a little more work.

Why "Not yet" is still useful

Every "Not yet" comes with a one-line fix. Most take minutes, not days: exporting bank statements, asking your tax agent for your lodgement status, writing down what the money is for. Owners who sort two or three of these before the call usually find the specialist can be far more specific about what's possible and what it will take.

If you're working through something tricky — an ATO balance, a refinance, a short-term loan against property — the call prep by situation pages explain what you'll be asked for each one. When you're ready, ask for a call-back; there's no credit check to ask, and your details stay with one team rather than being handed around.

    Questions about the check

What does a low score mean?

Only that the first call may cover some groundwork. It doesn't mean you won't qualify. Request the call-back anyway and use the gaps list to prepare what you can in the meantime.

    Is my answer sent anywhere?

No. The check runs entirely in your browser and nothing you tick is stored or sent. It's a private readiness check, not an application.

Why does lodgement matter more than the debt itself?

Lodged returns and activity statements show the true position. When they're missing, a lender can't see what's owed, so the conversation stalls. A known debt with lodgements up to date is much easier to work with.

What should I do after the check?

Build a situation-specific checklist with the call-prep tool, then request your call-back. There's no credit check when you first enquire.
